Why visit BarkParkBecause it’s fun! Dogs are social animals and most enjoy playing with other dogs. BarkPark Dubai provides pet dogs the opportunity to exercise, play, explore and socialise off lead in a large, fully enclosed and clean area. The BarkPark Dubai experience offers dogs so much more than a simple walk – they can safely run, play and have fun with other dogs under the watchful eye of their owner. All the playing, running & socialising tires a dog out and well exercised dogs are better behaved and less likely to create a nuisance like barking excessively or showing destructive behaviours. BarkPark Dubai provides an environment where owners can help their dogs to socialise and help their dogs gain confidence.

Where are you located? We are located in Al Awir – just outside of Dubai. Click here to find us on google maps The easiest way to find us is by searching for “BarkPark Dubai’ on google maps (note BarkPark is one word) You need to drive through Al Awir village to reach us, do not exit from Al Maleha Road – this would take you off road through soft sand. On E611 heading towards Sharjah/ Al Dhaid leave E611 at exit sign posted ‘Al Awir 1’, you join the exit ramp just before the new Emarat petrol station, there is a lot of roadworks there at the moment so it’s easy to miss. At the end of the road you will come to roundabout- turn left, continue straight at the next roundabout then you will come to a T junction – turn left. You will see a palace wall on your right, continue along to the end of this road (approx 5km). At the end of this road you will see an army base turn right. The road then becomes a graded track, stay on this track which goes up into the sand dune area. (do not follow the sand track at the side of the army base wall) stay straight on this track, it is a bit bumpy in places but is fully accessible & you don’t need a 4WD. At the end of the track (approx 1.5km) you will come to a private entrance, you will see the entrance to BarkPark Dubai to the right of this. Enter and follow the interlock road to our parking area.

Must by dog wear a Muzzle?Muzzles are not compulsory unless your dog is known to have fear reactive or over excitement tendencies. However, BarkPark Dubai encourages the use of a well fitted muzzle as a valuable safety tool. We know that there is a stigma associated with muzzles and that some owners are reluctant to use them with their dogs. Instead of the negative stigma associated with aggressive dogs wearing muzzles, we see muzzles as a sign of proactive & responsible dog ownership that greatly reduces the chance of injury and/or damage especially in a dog park environment where energy levels are high and reactive behaviours may be exacerbated due to the excitement of being able to run freely. (We have a few spare muzzles to borrow if you don’t have your own)
-
Can I leave my dog alone? If your dog is at day care or is boarding with us – Yes! However, if you are using the outdoor dog park then No, owners must remain with & are fully responsible for their dog at all times. Use of our outdoor dog park is self directed & at times may not be supervised by an employee or representative of BarkPark Dubai.
-
Can I bring my (human) kids to BarkPark?Every Saturday afternoon we have our family friendly session – ‘Kids & Canines’ when children 5yo and above can join their 2 & 4-legged family members in BarkPark Dubai. Do note that: Parents must be aware of, & accept, the inherent risks present in any dog park which may be exacerbated by the presence of children. Children must be supervised at all times. Children should not run or scream as this can elicit a negative response from a dog. Children who are fearful or nervous around dogs should not be brought to BarkPark. BarkPark is a very exciting place for dogs. Most dogs present in BarkPark will be at a high energy level, this could be scary to some children. Some children have a boisterous enthusiasm for dogs. Dogs can interpret this as a threatening behaviour, which can cause a dog to react defensively. If your dog is unruly, nervous or fearful around children please bring them to BarkPark at another time when children are not present.
-
My dog is injured can I still come to BarkPark? To our outdoor dog park - No. We do not accept dogs that are injured (e.g have stitches, dressings, bandages, cones, splints etc) nor are pregnant females allowed in. For boarding please contact us directly to discuss your dog’s condition & needs.
-
Does my dog need to be de-sexed to enter the park? Our preference is that dogs over 1 year old are neutered, however we do accept un-neutered dogs providing they are not causing any issues with other dogs. Owners of intact males must be aware that their intact males may feel threatening to other males and fights may occur. As soon as you notice your intact male is causing anxiety to other dogs you must remove him from the park. Females in heat are not permitted.
-
Do dogs ever fight at BarkPark?A dog park is a very exciting place. It causes raised levels of energy in many dogs. Dog play mimics fighting and during play it is possible for injuries to occur. Some dogs play rougher than others and at times tempers can flare in even the most docile dogs. Although rare, any play session can escalate to a fight. That is why we insist that owners are vigilant and watch their dog’s behaviour, stepping in if quarrels are starting to escalate. BarkPark Dubai recommends the positive use of a well-fitting muzzle as a safety tool. If you choose not to use a muzzle and your dog causes injury to another that requires medical attention it is our view that the owner of the dog that is not muzzled is responsible for any cost of medical treatment. If neither dog is muzzled then each owner bears their own costs. BarkPark Dubai will not assume any risk or cost associated with injury.
-
What vaccinations must my dog have before he can enter BarkPark? All dogs must be current on vaccinations for Rabies & DHPPL (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus & Leptospirosis), kennel cough vaccination is not essential. In addition to being fully vaccinated dogs must also have had an additional Antibody Titer Test (VacciCheck) in the last 12 months showing that the dog has sufficient protection against Parvovirus (CPV), Distemper Virus (CDV) and Infectious Hepatitis virus (ICH).
-
Why must my dog have a Titer Test when they are already fully vaccinated? We have introduced this requirement due to the frequent outbreaks of Parvovirus & Distemper throughout the UAE. Worryingly even fully vaccinated dogs are succumbing to these highly infectious diseases. Titer Tests (VacciCheck) measure the antibody levels in your dog for Parvovirus (CPV), Distemper Virus (CDV) and Infectious Hepatitis Virus (ICH) showing whether your dog has protective immunity or not. If your dog does not have adequate immunity then additional vaccination and Titer Testing are indicated (your vet is best placed to advise you on this). Tests are available at most veterinary clinics and the test costs around AED 100 – 200. The Titer Test adds an additional level of biosecurity and provides peace of mind to owners and to us.
-
Should my dog be microchipped too?Yes – this is a legal requirement throughout the UAE. Also, dogs that reside in Dubai must be registered with Dubai Municipality and should wear their Municipality Tag at all times.
-
Do you offer boarding?Yes, for dogs and for cats! ‘Boarding @ BarkPark’ has been created to make the boarding experience as pleasant and stress free has possible. We offer daycare too! We are very different from the majority of boarding /daycare facilities in Dubai. We have designed our boarding & daycare to be as enjoyable and stress-free for dogs as possible. We have deliberately limited our capacity so we are never overcrowded or overnoisy like many indoor facilities as this can be overwhelming for many dogs. Our boarding is homestyle and virtually kennel/crate/cage/cubicle free – our boarders eat in their individual kennels and other than that are out free to socialise, play and relax in our lounge style set up. If your dog prefers to sleep in their own space they can also sleep in their kennel, but most don’t. We have staff with dogs 24/7 – even overnight. Our day care & boarders have lots of access to the outdoors and have regular, supervised and weather appropriate access to our outdoor park to run, swim, play & relax. They also get hourly toilet breaks throughout the day in our shaded garden with natural grass. This helps them avoid developing a habit of toileting indoors. Click here for more information/to make a reservation.
-
Can I bring my dog & have a look around before I decide to join BarkPark?Yes of course you can. Please call or email to make an appointment and we will show you around. Note that vaccinations must be current.
-
What forms of payment do you accept? We accept payment by cash, Visa, MasterCard, bank transfer & online payment.
-
My dog is nervous & not well socialised can I bring it to BarkPark Dubai?Dog parks are best suited to friendly, confident and well socialised dogs. Fearful, nervous dogs may not enjoy a dog park environment. They can be overwhelmed by other dogs and may even trigger other dogs to show overly dominant or chasing behaviour. Seek the help of a qualified and licensed dog trainer to help your nervous dog gain confidence. Not all dogs like to socialize so if your dog is nervous, timid or aggressive, leave him home for his safety and enjoyment. For dogs with mild nervousness we recommend you come during a quiet period and allow your dog to get used to BarkPark Dubai and only come during busier period when your dog is suitably comfortable and confident on the park environment.
-
Do you have swimming facilities for dogs?Yes we do. Our large pond is in the large dog area and we have a cool down pool and a paddling pool in our small dog area. All of our water pools are chlorine free as we use Anosan TW®, a non-toxic, hypo-allergenic, eco friendly disinfectant and deodorizer.
-
I don't own a dog can I come to BarkPark Dubai just to see / meet dogs? You can come and enjoy a refreshment at our coffee bar but cannot enter into our outdoor park or boarding areas.
